Boral Fence Installation: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide

Boral fence installation in Fort Worth typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a full replacement, and we can usually have a crew out within a few days once we’ve confirmed your panel style and post condition. Most owners don’t call us for a whole new fence. They call because a picket cracked, a post shifted in the clay soil, or a section got taken out by a spring storm and now they’re looking at a gap where their dog used to stay put. You’ve got Boral’s composite board product on your property, which means you spent real money on rot resistance and good looks. We’ll match it and get it standing straight again without making you re-buy the whole run.

Which Boral Models This Applies To

Boral manufactures a few fence lines, and the part you need depends on which one you have. The two most common in Fort Worth are the Boral TruExterior fence pickets (their composite-reinforced board product) and the Boral post-and-rail systems sold through regional lumberyards. The gotcha most owners hit: Boral pickets come in dimensions that don’t always match the cedar fence boards at the big box stores. A standard cedar picket is 5/8 inch thick. Many Boral TruExterior pickets run thinner, around 1/2 inch, and the board widths differ too. If you try to patch one Boral picket with a cedar board from Home Depot, you’ll see the difference from the street.

We also see homes with Boral post wraps and post caps that need matching. The post cap profile is the thing owners get wrong most often. Bring us a photo and a measurement of the post’s outside width, and we can source the right cap without you paying for trial and error. For OEM parts we order direct from Boral’s distribution network. For trim pieces and fasteners, we stock quality aftermarket equivalents that meet or beat the originals, and we’ll tell you plainly which one makes sense for your repair. We’re an independent Fort Worth installer, not a Boral dealer, which means we can be honest about when the OEM part matters and when a comparable part at half the price gets the same result.

Signs Your Boral Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Pickets lifting or cupping at the bottom edge. Fort Worth’s freeze-thaw cycles in January and February make moisture get under the board and expand. Boral resists this better than wood, but a picket buried in soil or sitting against a sprinkler head will still warp. That’s a drainage issue, not a product defect. Fix the drainage when you replace the board or you’ll be back at it in two years.
  • Posts leaning at the gate or corners. North Texas clay soil swells when it rains and shrinks when it bakes. That constant movement works posts loose. A leaning Boral post usually means the concrete footer was too shallow for our soil, or water pooled around the base. We dig deeper footers and add gravel at the base for drainage.
  • White chalky residue or fading on the board face. That’s UV wear from the Texas sun. Boral’s color layer holds up well, but direct western exposure will fade any product over 8 to 12 years. You can’t sand it off and refinish it like wood. Replacement or repainting with a composite-safe coating are the two real options.
  • Loose or popping fasteners along the rail. The screws or nails that looked flush at install start backing out as the rails expand and contract. If your Boral fence is more than a few years old, walk the run after the first hard freeze and you’ll spot them. We re-secure with composite-rated screws that have more bite than the quick-install fasteners some crews use.
  • Sagging gate that drags on the latch side. A Boral gate is heavier than a wood gate the same size. The hinge screws pull out of the post, or the frame wasn’t reinforced for the weight. We rebuild gate frames with steel reinforcement so the Boral pickets have a stable foundation. A dragging gate will bend its hinges within a season if you ignore it.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full Boral fence installation in Fort Worth, plan on $3,500 to $9,000 depending on the linear footage, fence height, and whether the posts can be reused. A partial repair, like replacing a damaged section or a few pickets, typically lands well below that range. Our written price includes the Boral-compatible panels or pickets, all fasteners, post concrete or new posts if needed, and removal of the old section. That’s the number on the invoice. Not a dollar more, not a “site condition” surprise at the end.

Every Boral fence install we do carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If something’s not right within a year, we come back and make it right. No argument, no charge. That’s the Relay Standard our crews work under: written price first, live arrival time on install day, photos before and after. You’ll know who’s coming and what it costs before a single tool leaves the truck.

DIY or Call Us?

If a single picket is cracked and the post’s still solid, you can swap one board with a matching Boral picket, a drill, and composite screws. That’s a Saturday morning job for a homeowner who’s comfortable with a level. Where DIY goes wrong: anything involving a post. Digging out a Boral post in Texas clay takes four hours and a digging bar, the concrete footer weighs more than you think, and if you don’t set the new post at the right depth for our soil, it leans within a year. Gates are the other one we get called to fix after a homeowner tried. A composite gate weighs enough to hurt when it shifts, and setting the hinge geometry wrong means the gate binds or sags. If the part involved is heavier than you want catching you, call us at (682) 841-6652 and we’ll get it straight the first time.
