ECO Window Systems Bathroom Remodeling: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
A full bathroom remodel around ECO Window Systems windows in Fort Worth typically runs $9,000 to $28,000 installed, and we stock compatible trim kits, flashing, and sill pans on our trucks for same-week starts. Most owners call us after noticing water staining on drywall beneath the window, a window that fogs between panes, or tile cracking along the sill line. You’re likely on this page because water is getting where it shouldn’t, or you’re planning a remodel and want to know if your ECO windows can stay in place while we rebuild the wet areas around them.
Quick answer: in most Fort Worth bathrooms built after 2005, yes, the ECO window frames can stay. What usually fails is not the window itself but the waterproofing integration around it, which is a remodeling problem, not a window manufacturing problem. We fix that integration daily, and we do it with the window in place whenever possible.
Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

ECO Window Systems built a strong presence in Texas tract housing and semi-custom builds, so the windows you’re most likely to have are the 2000 and 3000 series vinyl frames, either single-hung or horizontal sliders. In bathrooms, you’ll also see the fixed picture windows with an obscure glass pane, often placed high on a shower wall or over a tub. The compatibility gotcha most homeowners don’t know: the factory sill pan and flashing details were rated for the original fiberglass or acrylic shower surround, not for a tile remodel. When tile goes in, the finished floor height changes, and the original waterproofing no longer laps correctly. That’s the root of most failures we see, not a bad window.
If you can, check the sticker on the inside of the frame or the etching in the lower corner of the glass. It will have a model code starting with ECO, followed by a series number. Snap a photo and text it to us before we come out, it helps us bring the right flashing kit. For replacement parts, ECO-branded glazing beads and balance assemblies exist, but in our experience the better money for a bathroom remodel goes into a quality aftermarket flashing system and a correctly rebuilt sill, especially in a wet area. OEM is not automatically better here. The aftermarket products we use, like Pella and Marvin flashing tape and Protecto Wrap sill pans, outperform the original builder-grade details in this climate.
Texas heat also does a specific thing to vinyl window frames in bathrooms: the repeated expansion and contraction from hot showers followed by air-conditioned air eventually loosens the caulk joint at the frame-to-tile transition. That joint is a wear item. It’s meant to be maintained, and on a remodel we rebuild it from scratch so you get a decade before it needs attention again.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Water staining or bubbling drywall below the window. This means the sill pan flashing has failed or was never lapped correctly over the shower surround. Water is traveling down inside the wall cavity, and by the time you see the stain, the framing behind it is already wet.
- Fogging between the glass panes. The window’s insulated glass unit seal has given out, usually after 10 to 15 years of Fort Worth heat cycling. The window still works structurally, but it will never be clear again without a glass-pack replacement.
- Mold or mildew in the drywall immediately around the frame. That’s not a cleaning problem. That’s a moisture management problem. The area is staying damp because water is trapped where the tile meets the window, and it’s not drying out.
- Grout cracking along the window sill line. The substrate moved, or water got behind the tile and the thinset is failing. This is the warning sign before the stain appears, not after.
- Caulk peeling back from the frame repeatedly. If you’ve caulked it twice and it keeps pulling away, the window is moving more than it should, or water pressure is pushing from behind the joint. Caulk is not the fix, rebuilding the connection is.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s the honest math for Fort Worth in 2026. A straightforward bathroom remodel where the ECO window stays, we rebuild the framing around it, flash it correctly, and retile the shower or tub surround: $9,000 to $18,000. A full gut remodel with a new window installed, new shower pan, custom tile work, and new vanity: $18,000 to $28,000. If all you need is the window-to-tile connection rebuilt, that usually lands between $2,500 and $5,500 depending on how much tile has to come out to do it right.
Every quote includes the written price before work starts, materials, labor, debris removal, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing on the invoice. If a glass pack needs replacing inside the ECO frame, we source that separately and line-item it. What you’ll never get is a change order halfway through because we “discovered” something. We budget for discovery up front and tell you what we expect to find before we open the wall.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely caulk a small gap at the top of the frame as a stopgap, and you can check for soft drywall with a gentle press of your thumb. What you should not do is pull tile off around a bathroom window to “see what’s going on.” That tile is part of your waterproofing layer. Once you break it, water has a path into the wall if the shower gets used before it’s properly rebuilt. Same caution applies to replacing a fogged glass pack: the window has tensioned components and the flange is nailed to the framing from inside. It’s not a two-screw job, and a wrong cut on the exterior trim lets rain straight into the wall.
If the tile is cracked, the sill is spongy, or the window fogged after a hot Fort Worth summer, call us at (682) 841-6652. We’ll come look, tell you what’s actually wrong, and hand you a written price. No pressure, no mystery.
FAQs

The vinyl frame itself will last 25 to 30 years. Expect the insulated glass seal to fail between year 10 and 15 in this climate, and expect the caulk joint between window and tile to need rebuilding every 8 to 10 years. Call (682) 841-6652 and we’ll assess where yours is in that cycle.
If the frame is solid and only the glass pack is fogged, we can replace the insulated glass unit within the existing frame for a fraction of full-window cost. If the frame is warped or the sill is rotted, replacement is cheaper than saving it. We’ll tell you which one makes sense before we sell you anything.
A standard tub-to-tile rebuild around an existing window takes five to eight working days. A full bathroom removal and rebuild runs two to three weeks depending on tile detail and fixture lead times. We give you a written start date and daily photo updates so you’re never guessing.
We stock flashing kits, sill pans, glazing beads, and balance assemblies that fit the common ECO 2000 and 3000 series frames. For glass packs, we measure and order the exact spec unit, which arrives in three to five business days. If we don’t have a part, we tell you the day we find out, not the day we show up to install it.
