Master Halco Kitchen Remodeling: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
If your Master Halco kitchen components are failing, you’re looking at a full or partial kitchen remodel that runs $14,000 to $45,000 in Fort Worth, and we can usually schedule your project within two to three weeks. Most owners call us after they notice cabinet door hinges pulling out, laminate surfaces peeling at the edges, or drawer slides that bind no matter how many times they’re adjusted. The failure typically starts small and spreads fast once moisture or daily wear gets into the substrate. We stock compatible hardware and materials for Master Halco builds and can match the original specs.
There’s a reality to Master Halco kitchen parts that most pages won’t tell you: Master Halco is primarily known in Texas as a fencing and outdoor products distributor, not a kitchen cabinetry manufacturer. If you have a kitchen labeled Master Halco, you almost certainly have cabinets built by a regional shop using Master Halco-sourced materials, or a mislabeled set from a builder-grade install. That doesn’t change what we do. We match the component, replace the failed part, and when the cabinet boxes themselves are shot, we rebuild the kitchen around what still works.
Which Master Halco Models This Applies To

Because Master Halco doesn’t run a consumer-facing kitchen line with model numbers like KraftMaid or Wellborn do, identification comes down to what’s physically in your kitchen. Look inside the sink base cabinet door or on the back of a drawer box for a printed sticker, ink stamp, or burned-in code. If you find a label with a local Fort Worth fabricator’s name plus the Master Halco logo, that’s the tell. We see a lot of these in homes built between 2010 and 2018 in neighborhoods like Wedgwood, Ryan Place, and over toward Lake Worth.
The compatibility gotcha: many of these installs used recessed-mount European hinges at 35mm cup boring, but some local fabricators switched to 26mm or 32mm depending on what was in stock that season. Measure the hinge cup hole diameter before you order replacements. If it’s not 35mm, aftermarket hinge selection narrows considerably, and going OEM through a cabinetry supplier can take three to four weeks. We keep common 35mm soft-close and standard overlay hinges on the truck, along with a range of cup adapter plates that solve the oddball sizes same-day. For drawer slides, the common spec is a 22-inch full-extension side mount rated at 100 pounds, but we’ve pulled 75-pound-rated slides out of master bath vanities in the same house. The rated weight is printed on the slide body, usually near the rear mounting screw line.
Sawyer Remodel Fort Worth is an independent remodeling contractor, not affiliated with Master Halco. We work with the parts you have and the brands we stock, which includes KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone when you’re ready to upgrade beyond builder-grade.

Signs Your Master Halco Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Cabinet doors that won’t stay closed or hang crooked. The self-close mechanism in the hinge has sheared its internal spring, or the cup has stripped out of the particleboard door. Tightening screws doesn’t fix a stripped cup. The door needs hinge replacement or epoxy fill-and-redrill.
- Drawers that scrape, stick, or drop at the back. The slide’s ball bearing carrier is broken or the nylon wheel has flattened. In Fort Worth’s dry winters and humid summers, cheap slides lose their lube film and wear metal on metal fast. You’ll hear it before it fails.
- Laminate peeling at the sink base or dishwasher return. Moisture got past the edge banding. Once the chipboard core swells, the laminate can’t be glued back down flat. The damaged panel needs replacement, and the moisture source needs fixing first.
- Adjustable shelf pins falling through the holes. The grommets or metal pin sleeves have wallowed out the 5mm holes in the cabinet side. If the holes are egg-shaped, the fix is a sleeve insert or moving to a stud-mount shelf standard.
- Repeated hinge adjustments that don’t hold. The adjustment screw threads in the hinge boss are stripped, usually from over-tightening during install. You can replace hinges, but if the boss is part of the cabinet plate, the entire corner brace goes with it.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full kitchen remodel in Fort Worth runs $14,000 to $45,000 depending on cabinet count, countertop material, and whether we’re moving plumbing or electrical. If you’re just replacing failed Master Halco components, cabinet installation alone typically runs $4,000 to $13,000, countertops $2,000 to $6,500, and a new backsplash $800 to $2,500. An island adds $3,000 to $10,000 if you’re building one from scratch.
Every job is priced as a written line-item quote before work starts. You’ll know the cabinet cost, the countertop cost, labor, and any plumbing or electrical separately. We don’t do allowances that let the number drift upward. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers our installation for a full year, and if a hinge fails or a door sags because of something we did, we return and fix it at no charge. The written guarantee is included on every project, not something you ask for.
DIY or Call Us?
You can check a hinge cup diameter, measure a drawer slide, and confirm whether a cabinet box is solid or swollen. What you shouldn’t do is hang new cabinets on wall studs you can’t verify, cut quartz or granite tops without proper dust collection, or remove a load-bearing soffit above your existing cabinets. Tensioned slide mechanisms can snap back on fingers, and a full granite slab drop-in top weighs 400 to 600 pounds. That’s not a two-person job no matter how strong your neighbor is.
The honest split: hinge and slide swaps are weekend work if you match specs. Full cabinet replacement, countertop installation, and any plumbing trim-out should be done by a remodeler who carries insurance and a warranty. We’re happy to handle just the parts if that’s all you need. Call (682) 841-6652 and Luca Romano will tell you straight whether it’s a truck-stock fix or a full remodel.
FAQs

Builder-grade hinges and slides in Fort Worth kitchens last 8 to 15 years depending on how close the cabinet is to the dishwasher or sink and how many kids yank drawers open. Cabinets with plywood boxes and name-brand hardware can run 20-plus years, but the original Master Halco-material installs we see tend to use particleboard boxes that fail at the corners first. Call (682) 841-6652 if your cabinets are past the 10-year mark and starting to show wear, and we’ll give you a straight replacement range.
A stripped hinge cup hole can be filled with a two-part wood epoxy and re-drilled once, and that repair typically holds for several years if the door isn’t overslammed. A bent or broken slide can’t be repaired safely; the bearing carrier is not serviceable, and a partial fix risks the drawer dropping on someone’s foot. Call (682) 841-6652 and we’ll tell you which category yours falls into.
A component-level repair like hinge replacement or slide swapping is done same-day once we have the parts in hand. A full cabinet-and-countertop remodel in Fort Worth runs three to six weeks from demo to final cleanup, depending on whether custom countertops are being templated and fabricated. We give you a written schedule before work starts and send photo updates as the job moves.
We carry common 35mm soft-close hinges, cup adapter plates, 22-inch full-extension drawer slides, and shelf pin sleeves in our Fort Worth trucks, so most hinge and slide failures are fixed on the first visit. For oddball cup sizes or matching cabinet door profiles, we order from our supplier network and typically have parts in hand within a week. Call (682) 841-6652 with your hinge cup measurement and we’ll check stock before we arrive.
When your kitchen stops working the way it should, you’ll want a price in writing before anything gets torn out. Call Sawyer Remodel Fort Worth at (682) 841-6652 for a free estimate, and we’ll walk you through what’s failing, what it costs, and when we can start. We answer the phone, we show up when we say we will, and you get the number before the work.
