Ameristar Bathroom Remodeling: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide

If you have an Ameristar bathroom product with a failing part, we stock and install Ameristar-compatible bathroom remodeling components across Fort Worth, with most full replacements running $9,000 to $28,000 installed. Most owners call us after spotting water damage at the base of a tub or shower, a valve that won’t stop dripping, or grout that’s cracking and letting moisture behind the tile. We can usually diagnose the failure, match the part to your Ameristar model, and get it swapped without tearing out the whole bathroom.

We’re an independent Fort Worth remodeling contractor, not affiliated with Ameristar. But we work on Ameristar tubs, surrounds, and shower systems regularly, and we know which parts fail first and how to match replacements without guesswork.

Which Ameristar Models This Applies To

A walk-in shower with large-format tile and a built-in niche

Ameristar produces a range of bathroom products, and the compatibility questions usually come down to three things: the series (Ameristar’s builder-grade tubs and surrounds are the most common in Fort Worth homes built in the last 15 years), the drain layout (left-hand vs right-hand), and the valve type if you’re dealing with a shower or tub filler.

Here’s the compatibility gotcha we see most often in Fort Worth: Ameristar tub surrounds are usually 60 inches wide, but the depth and the drain offset vary between the builder series and the retail series. A surround from one Ameristar line won’t always seat properly on the tub from another line. If you can find the model sticker (usually on the underside of the tub deck or behind the access panel), that resolves it fast. If not, we take measurements and match against the spec sheet before ordering anything.

When it comes to parts, OEM Ameristar components are the safest bet for warranties and exact fit. But for things like shower valves, trim kits, and drain assemblies, quality aftermarket equivalents from Moen, Delta, and Kohler often fit the same rough-ins and give you a better finish for the money. We’ll tell you honestly which makes sense for your situation.

Signs Your Ameristar Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Water staining at the tub or shower base. This almost always means the drain gasket or the surround-to-tub seal has failed. Water is seeping under the fixture, and by the time you see it, the subfloor has already been wet for a while.
  • A shower valve that drips or won’t hold temperature. Ameristar builder-grade cartridges wear out faster than premium valves. The rubber seats degrade, the cartridge sticks, and suddenly you’re getting scalded or frozen mid-shower.
  • Cracked or separating surround panels. Fort Worth’s summer heat expands and contracts surround panels repeatedly. Over a decade of that cycling, seams start to split, and water finds the gap.
  • Grout that crumbles at the tub line. Some Ameristar installations use tile at the tub deck. The joint there takes constant flexing, and standard grout fails. It needs a flexible sealant, not re-grouting.
  • Soft spots in the floor near the tub. That’s the late-stage warning. The leak has been active long enough to rot the subfloor, and now you’re looking at structural repair along with the fixture work.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled primary bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower

For Ameristar-compatible bathroom remodeling in Fort Worth, you’re looking at $9,000 to $28,000 for a full bathroom, with smaller jobs like a tub-to-shower conversion falling in the $3,500 to $10,000 range. A simple valve and trim swap might run $400 to $1,800 depending on access and the existing rough-in.

What drives the price: whether we’re replacing a part or rebuilding the wet area, the condition of the subfloor and studs once we open the wall, and the finish level you choose. Every job gets a written price before we start, with parts and labor broken out separately. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every Ameristar repair we do. If it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing.

DIY or Call Us?

A shower cartridge or a tub spout is something a careful homeowner with the right tools can swap in an afternoon. But the moment you’re dealing with drain assemblies, surround seals, or anything involving water sitting against your subfloor, the downside of a bad DIY job is a $5,000 rot repair six months from now. Fort Worth’s humidity already works against you on bathroom leaks.

Luca Romano has been doing this work for two decades, and he still walks every Ameristar job himself. If you’re not sure which part you need, call us and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you over the phone if it’s a simple fix or if you need a pro. Most calls take ten minutes. Call (682) 841-6652.
