Cover Bathroom Remodeling: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide

If your Cover bathroom remodel has hit a wall, here’s the straight answer: Sawyer Remodel Fort Worth installs and services Cover-compatible bathroom remodeling in the Fort Worth area, with most full bathroom remodels landing between $9,000 and $28,000 depending on size, materials, and what’s behind the old walls. Most owners call us when a piece of the original Cover project has failed: shower pans cracked at the seam, waterproofing that gave out behind tile, or a vanity that swelled from the humidity a Texas bathroom pushes at it every single day. We show up with a written price before any work starts, and our crew is background-checked and uniformed, so you know exactly who’s walking through your door.

Here’s the part most Fort Worth homeowners don’t see coming: a failed Cover bathroom component is rarely just the one part. Water travels. A cracked pan leaks into the subfloor, the subfloor rots, the framing goes soft, and suddenly the $1,200 fix is a $9,000 gut. That’s why we walk every Cover bathroom service call with a moisture meter and a flashlight before touching a single screw. Luca Romano, our owner, still does the walkthrough himself on bathroom jobs. He’s seen the pattern too many times to trust a photo.

The work talks. We just back it up.

Which Cover Models This Applies To

Cover bathroom products aren’t a single line. Over the years, Cover has run several series lines through big-box and builder-supply channels, and they don’t always label the hardware the same way. The quickest way to identify what you have is to pull the drawer from the vanity and look for a white sticker on the inside of the cabinet body: it’ll have a model number starting with CB, CR, or CV. Shower pans and surrounds usually have a stamp on the back side of the threshold or under the drain cover lip. If the sticker’s gone (it usually is after a few Fort Worth summers of humidity), we go by measurements: pan dimensions to the half-inch, valve rough-in depth, and hinge spacing on the vanity doors.

Here’s the compatibility gotcha most people don’t know: Cover changed its vanity drawer slide supplier around 2019, and the newer soft-close slides don’t retrofit into the older cabinet boxes without a 3/4-inch filler strip. We stock both the OEM-style slides and the current generation on our trucks, along with the aftermarket equivalent from Blum, which we’ve found holds up better to the humidity swings in Fort Worth than the original spec. If you need a cover panel or a matching door, the finish code matters more than the model number: Cover uses a three-letter finish code stamped on the hinge plate, and matching that code is the difference between a seamless repair and a door that looks like it belongs in someone else’s bathroom.

We’re an independent Fort Worth contractor, not affiliated with Cover, which means we can install genuine Cover hardware or recommend a better-built equivalent when the original part has a track record of failing early. You get the honest answer either way.

Signs Your Cover Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Grout lines cracking or crumbling at the pan-to-wall seam. This is the first place movement shows. Fort Worth clay soil expands and contracts with rain and drought, and that movement transfers through your slab into the pan. Hairline cracks here mean water is getting behind the waterproofing.
  • Soft spots in the subfloor around the toilet or shower base. If the floor gives slightly when you step near the toilet flange, the wax ring or the pan has been leaking longer than you want to know. By the time you feel it, the damage is usually two or three feet wider than the soft spot.
  • Vanity doors that won’t close square or drawers that stick in humid months. The MDF core in many Cover cabinet lines swells in Fort Worth’s summer humidity cycle. A drawer that only slides smooth in January is telling you the box is saturated and losing structural integrity.
  • Musty smell that doesn’t go away after cleaning. That’s not a cleaning issue. That’s water sitting in a cavity you can’t see. In our experience across Fort Worth, it’s almost always a failed pan liner or a shower valve weep hole that’s dripping inside the wall.
  • Tile efflorescence, which is the white chalky film blooming on grout lines. Minerals are being drawn through the thinset by moisture underneath. It’s the tile’s way of telling you water is on the wrong side of the membrane.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A wood double vanity with two mirrors after a bathroom remodel

A full Cover bathroom remodel replacement in Fort Worth runs $9,000 to $28,000 installed. That’s the honest range, and here’s what drives the spread: a small hall bath with a tub surround, vinyl flooring, and a stock vanity sits around $9,000 to $12,000. A master bath with a walk-in shower, double vanity, custom glass, and tile to the ceiling lands between $18,000 and $28,000. Every quote includes demolition, haul-off, waterproofing, plumbing rough-in, electrical, drywall, tile, fixtures, and finish work. The price you approve is the price on the invoice. No change orders because we found a surprise we should have found during the walkthrough.

Every Cover bathroom remodel we complete in Fort Worth carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if it’s not done right, we make it right. You also get a free second visit if anything fails within that year. No arguments, no fine print.

DIY or Call Us?

You can absolutely check a few things yourself before picking up the phone: pull the vanity drawers and look for swelling or staining on the cabinet floor, run your hand along the pan-to-wall seam for cracked grout or caulk, and check under the sink for soft cabinet bottoms. That’s where safe DIY ends on a Cover bathroom repair. Once you’re pulling tile, cutting into a subfloor, or touching plumbing inside a wall, you’re into territory where one wrong move turns a $1,500 repair into a $9,000 flood claim. Plumbing repairs inside walls are licensed-trade work in Texas for good reason.

If what you’re seeing matches the symptoms above, call us at (682) 841-6652 and we’ll schedule the walkthrough. The estimate is free, and you’ll have a written number before any tool comes off the truck.
