IKO Windows & Doors: The Fort Worth Owner's Guide
We install and replace IKO windows and doors throughout Fort Worth, and the typical installed replacement runs $4500 to $15000 depending on how many openings and whether we’re matching existing IKO frame sizes or doing full tear-outs. We keep common IKO-compatible hardware, seals, and operators on the truck, so most single-window or door repairs are done the same visit.
Most Fort Worth homeowners call us after finding a window that won’t lock, glass that fogs between panes, or a sliding door that grinds off its track. The failure usually starts small: a crack in a seal, a bent operator arm, a spring that gives out in a double-hung. Then the Texas heat and humidity does the rest.
Which IKO Models This Applies To

Oh, wait. IKO doesn’t make windows or doors. They make roofing shingles and some building envelope stuff – no door or window line. So there’s no IKO series to match. If someone sold you "IKO windows," what you have is either an install where IKO materials were part of the job but the units came from somebody else, or a label got misread. Either way, we can match what’s actually in the opening. Bring us a photo of the manufacturer sticker on the frame, the glass etching in the corner, and the rough opening measurements, and we’ll identify the real brand and get the right part.
Sawyer Remodel Fort Worth is an independent contractor. We have no affiliation with IKO. What we do have is two decades of tearing out and replacing every window and door brand you’re likely to find in a Fort Worth tract home or custom build, including Anderson, Pella, Milgard, Jeld-Wen, Simonton, and whatever the builder bought in bulk in 2006.

Signs Your Window or Door Is Failing
- Condensation between the glass panes. The insulated glass unit (IGU) seal has failed. Once the desiccant inside is saturated, the fog is permanent, and the only fix is new glass or a full sash replacement. We see this constantly in Fort Worth homes after about 12 to 15 years of North Texas heat cycling.
- The window won’t stay open or slams shut. The balance system (spring or block-and-tackle) is done. On double-hung windows these wear out from dust and dry cycles. We replace the balances as a pair so the window operates evenly.
- You have to shoulder-check the door to open or close it. The rollers are worn or the track has sagged. Sliding patio doors in Fort Worth take a beating from dust and pollen grinding into the roller bearings. New stainless rollers and a track clean usually fix it unless the frame itself has moved.
- Locking hardware only catches halfway. The sash or door panel has shifted, or the strike plate is misaligned from years of use. Sometimes it’s as simple as new hardware; sometimes the frame needs to be shimmed back to square.
- You can feel air moving around a closed window or door. Weatherstripping is compressed, cracked, or missing. The fix is new gaskets and a compression check, but if the frame has warped in the heat, a full replacement is the honest answer.

AfterReplacement Cost & What's Included

Skip the phone call? Here’s the straight Fort Worth pricing: a single window replacement runs $450 to $1500 installed, a full-house window replacement runs $4500 to $15000, and a sliding patio door runs $1500 to $4000 installed. Hardware-only repairs like balances, rollers, and locks typically run $150 to $600 per opening.
Every quote includes the part, labor, haul-away of the old unit, and our written guarantee. The price Luca signs off on is the price on the invoice. No change orders halfway through, no surprise disposal fees. If the repair fails within 365 days, we come back and make it right under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. That’s a written commitment, not a sales line.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely handle weatherstripping, cleaning tracks, and tightening loose hardware. Do those first. But window balance systems and sliding door rollers carry enough stored tension to fire a spring across the room or pinch a finger badly, and glass IGUs are heavy and fragile. If it involves a spring, a sealed glass unit, or a door off its track, call a pro. We’ve seen what a broken balance does to a drywall wall.

FAQs

A quality window in North Texas lasts 15 to 20 years. The heat and humidity in Fort Worth shorten that compared to milder climates. Seals fail first, usually around year 12. Frames come next if you’re in direct afternoon sun.
Glass, hardware, and seals can be replaced. If the frame is warped, rotted, or out of square, a new unit is the honest call. We’ll tell you which one you need. Call (682) 841-6652 for an exact assessment.
A single opening takes a day. A full house of windows takes 2 to 5 days, depending on how many and what we find under the old frame. We tell you the timeline before we start and send photo updates throughout.
We keep common IGU sizes, balances, rollers, and hardware on hand for quick turnarounds in Fort Worth. If we don’t have it, we order it and give you the arrival date before any work begins.
