Why Fort Worth Homeowners Choose Jerith Construction

We provide Jerith service in Fort Worth, including independent fence installation, gate repair, and construction across the city. Our crew has worked on Jerith Estate Series, Industrial Series, and Majestic Series aluminum fences on all the soil types this region throws at us: expansive clay in the north, Eagle Ford shale on the west side, and sandy loam near the Trinity. What sets our Jerith work apart is simple: we know which factory welds fail, which hinges seize in humidity, and which soil conditions pull posts out of plumb in under five years. We are an independent Jerith service provider, not a manufacturer-authorized installer. That means our recommendations are driven by what keeps your fence standing and latching, not by what moves product off a shelf. Call (682) 841-6652 if you have a Jerith gate sagging or a fence section blowing out in the wind.

Why Trust Sawyer Remodel Fort Worth for Your Jerith Construction?

A remodeled primary suite with built-in wardrobes and a window seat

Jerith aluminum fences are built well when the install is right. The problem in Fort Worth is rarely the extrusion itself. It is almost always the ground it’s set in, the depth of the footing, and the hardware interface between gate and post. Our lead remodeler, Luca Romano, learned the trade hands-on at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending two decades on everything from tract homes to custom builds. He walks every Keller Jerith service and Fort Worth job himself. He has seen too many remodels and fence installs go sideways when the owner stops showing up.

The difference on a Jerith fence is what happens below the surface. We set posts in 3-foot concrete piers on clay jobs because North Texas expansive clay will lift a 2-foot post out of the ground over three seasons. We use heavy-duty self-closing hinges rated for Texas heat on every gate we hang, even residential ones, because the standard hinges on some Jerith Estate gates fatigue with repeated wind-load flexing on long panel runs. We do the work the way we would want it done in our own house. That starts with a written price before we dig the first hole and ends with a 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, on every project.

We are not a Jerith authorized installer. We think that makes us better at telling you the truth. If a Jerith warranty requires factory parts, we use factory parts. If an aftermarket 6000-series aluminum extrusion matches a discontinued rail profile and will outlast the original, we tell you that too, and we put the choice in your hands with a price for each option.

Common Jerith Construction Problems We Fix in Fort Worth

Jerith Construction in Watauga, TX and Fort Worth faces similar challenges: fences and gates built for residential and light commercial use encounter climate and soil conditions that expose a consistent set of failure points we see repeatedly. Here are the five we deal with most often, in plain terms.

  • Powder coat chalking and fading on older Estate Series fences. Full Texas sun breaks down dark bronze and black powder coat over time, especially where irrigation water repeatedly hits the lower rail. The finish goes chalky and your hand comes away with residue. This is a UV and water-mineral issue, not a manufacturing defect. It happens faster in Fort Worth than in most markets because of the intensity of July and August sun combined with our hard water.
  • Loose or wobbly gate posts on Industrial Series fences. The Industrial Series is heavy. When the original installer used a standard 2-foot concrete footing on expansive clay, the freeze-and-swell cycle slowly works the post loose at the collar. The post moves, the gate latch misses, and the whole panel starts slamming in the wind. In Fort Worth, especially north of Loop 820 where the clay is highly plastic, we see this within six to eight years of a bad install.
  • Corrosion at aluminum-to-aluminum friction points on self-closing hinges. Jerith self-closing gate hinges are simple and effective, but aluminum against aluminum without lubrication becomes a galvanic problem during our humid spring and storm season. The hinge develops a grind, then sticks, then the spring tension can’t overcome the friction. Regular lubrication with the right product solves it, but many Fort Worth owners never know it needs doing until the gate stops closing.
  • Sagging or misaligned Estate gates on the hinge side. This one is weather and engineering. On a long panel run, an Estate gate acts like a sail. A strong spring storm front with sustained north wind puts a cyclic load on the hinge weld to the post. Over years the weld fatigues, the gate drops on the latch side, and the gap at the top hinge opens up. The post is often still plumb. The weld is the thing that gave up.
  • Racked panels on newly poured slab lots. In new subdivisions in far north Fort Worth and Alliance, the house slab is poured and the fence goes in shortly after on disturbed soil that has not settled. Within two years the panel nearest the gate develops a lean because the post is being pushed by soil that is still moving. We fix this by re-setting the post in a properly prepared hole, not by shimming or bending the panel.

Jerith Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

A remodeled staircase with wood treads and a slim metal railing

Our first move is always to source genuine Jerith replacement sections and gate hardware when it’s available and compatible. That keeps your warranty intact and the picket spacing identical. For older or discontinued rail profiles, Jerith’s extrusion dies have changed over the years, and a factory section from 2012 may not match a 2024 section even in the same series. In those cases we source American-made 6000-series aluminum extrusions that match the picket spacing and finish. It is not a knockoff; it is the same alloy family Jerith uses, cut and punched to match your existing line.

On repair versus replace, we follow a simple rule with powder coat. If the damage is under 25 percent of the surface area, a good clean, a matched touch-up coat, and a clear topcoat will hold for years in Fort Worth’s sun. If more than a quarter of the panel is chalking, blistering, or showing raw aluminum, patching it is a losing fight. You will be back on a ladder every 18 months. At that point, replacing the panel costs less over ten years than fighting the failure. We would rather tell you that truth and re-use the existing posts if they are still sound. Call (682) 841-6652 and Luca will come look at it before you spend a dollar.

Our Jerith Service Process – Step by Step

We run every Jerith job through the same process we use when acting as your General Contractor on a full home addition or a custom shower. The work talks. We just back it up.

  1. 1
Diagnosis. Luca walks the fence line or gate in person. He checks post plumb, hinge weld condition, soil bonding at the base, and gate swing under load. For a Jerith gate that won’t self-close, he tests the spring separate from the hinge friction so we know if you need a new spring or just a lubrication habit.
  2. 2
Written price. You get a line-item quote before any work starts. It shows the exact Jerith part or matched extrusion, the footing depth, the concrete spec, and the labor. The number on the invoice is the number you approved. No surprises at the door.
  3. 3
Repair or install. We schedule a day, show up with a live arrival time, and send photo updates before and after. Our crew is background-checked and uniformed. You will know exactly who is walking onto your property.
  4. 4
Test. On any gate job, we cycle the gate 20 to 30 times under real conditions. In July heat, after we have set posts in wet concrete, we come back and test the latch again once the clay has had a chance to move. A gate that latches on install day but won’t latch in August was never finished.
  5. 5
Warranty. Every Jerith job is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise, in writing. If the gate sags, the panel racks, or the finish fails within a year, we make it right. No argument, no fight. That is the whole point.

Jerith Products We Service & Install in Fort Worth

We work on the full Jerith aluminum fence lineup. That includes the Estate Series narrow-picket residential lines, the Industrial Series heavy-duty commercial panels, the Majestic Series with decorative finials, and the Estate pre-hung aluminum gate panels. We also handle Jerith’s standard and heavy-duty self-closing hinge sets. For parts, we keep common Jerith-compatible pickets, self-closing hinge springs, and latch sets on hand so a simple gate repair does not wait on a backorder. Discontinued profiles we order by extrusion spec and match on site. If you have a Jerith fence going in around a new pool enclosure out in the Alliance area, we can tie it into your existing panels and gate hardware so the whole run matches.

We Also Service These Brands

Jerith is a big part of what we do in Fort Worth, but we’re not a single-brand shop. We install and service KraftMaid and Cambria cabinetry and counterwork, Silestone quartz surfaces, and Kohler bathroom fixtures. That matters when your fence project turns into a gate replacement plus an outdoor kitchen pass-through, or you realize you want the matching aluminum railing on the front steps. We can do both without handing you off to a different company.

FAQs – Jerith Construction Service in Fort Worth

A finished basement family room with a media wall and wet bar

Why does my Jerith aluminum gate sag on the hinge side even though the posts are still plumb?
The hinge weld to the post is almost always the failure point. On a long panel run in Fort Worth, wind loads from spring storm fronts cycle that weld repeatedly until the weld metal fatally cracks. The post stays vertical, but the gate drops and the latch misses. The fix is removing the gate, cutting away the failed weld, and either re-welding an aluminum reinforcement gusset at the hinge or replacing the hinge bracket with a heavy-duty bolt-through version. If your Estate gate has been sagging for more than a season, call (682) 841-6652 and have Luca look at it before the crack spreads further into the hinge boss.

Can you match an existing Jerith fence section that’s been discontinued?
Yes. We match the picket spacing, rail profile, and finish color using American-made 6000-series aluminum extrusions when the factory profile is no longer in production. We cut and punch them to align with your existing posts and spindles. You will not get a panel that looks close; you will get a panel that lines up. Bring us a photo and the section length and we will quote it.

Why does the black powder coat on my Jerith fence look chalky after only five years?
Chalking is oxidation of the powder coat binder under UV light. Fort Worth’s summer sun, combined with hard-water mineral spray from lawn irrigation, accelerates the breakdown on the lower rail and in shaded areas where moisture lingers. It is cosmetic, not structural. If it is under 25 percent of the panel surface, we can restore it with a color-matched touch-up and a clear UV-block topcoat. Over that threshold, panel replacement costs less over a decade. Call (682) 841-6652 for an assessment and a written quote.

Can you install a Jerith fence on a slope with no stepped panels?
Aluminum fences on a grade can be racked to follow the slope, but Jerith’s standard Estate and Majestic systems are built for stepped or lightly racked installs. On a Fort Worth lot with a consistent 8 to 12 percent fall, we can rack the panels to follow the grade up to the system’s design limits. On irregular terrain with a mix of dips and rises, stepped panels look better and put less stress on the rail-to-post fasteners. We will tell you which is right for your yard before you buy the sections.

My Jerith gate won’t self-close once the weather gets humid – is the spring broken?
Usually not. Aluminum-to-aluminum friction at the hinge pin is the culprit. During Fort Worth’s humid spring, the natural oxide layer thickens and the hinge begins to bind. The spring cannot overcome that friction, so the gate stops short of the latch. The fix is often a proper cleaning and a dry-film lubricant designed for metal-on-metal contact. If the spring itself has lost tension or snapped, we replace it with the correct Jerith-spec spring, not a generic hardware-store version. Call (682) 841-6652 and we will diagnose it over the phone first.

How much does Jerith construction cost in Fort Worth?
Aluminum fence installation runs $4,000 to $10,000 for a typical Fort Worth residential lot. Vinyl fence installation runs $3,500 to $9,000. A home addition alongside fence or gate work runs $45,000 to $130,000 depending on scope. These are installed, written-quote prices, not just material costs.
