Sterling Kitchen Remodeling: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
A full Sterling kitchen remodeling project in Fort Worth typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, depending on cabinet count, countertop material, and whether we’re moving plumbing or electrical. If your Sterling cabinets, sink base, or undermount sink hardware have failed, we stock the common repair parts and can match most current Sterling lines. You’ll usually discover the problem as a loose cabinet door, a sink pulling away from the counter, or hinge hardware that’s stripped out and won’t hold.
Sawyer Remodel Fort Worth is an independent remodeling contractor, not affiliated with Sterling. That matters because we’re not here to protect a brand’s warranty department. We’re here to tell you what actually failed, whether it’s worth repairing, and what a full replacement costs in Fort Worth before you commit to anything. Luca Romano has been doing this long enough to know the difference between a $40 hinge fix and a $25,000 cabinet gut.
Which Sterling Models This Applies To

Sterling’s kitchen line splits into a few families you’ll see across Fort Worth homes. The Sterling Essentials series is the builder-grade line, common in homes built from the late 1990s through the mid-2010s. The Sterling Dimensions line runs on a sturdier cabinet box with soft-close hardware on most configurations. If you’re near the Cultural District or in older neighborhoods like Ridglea Hills, you’re more likely to have Essentials. Newer builds and remodels lean toward Dimensions.
The easiest way to identify your exact line: pull a drawer out and look at the label inside the drawer box, left side. It’ll have a model code starting with a letter followed by numbers. If the label is gone, measure your cabinet box side wall thickness. Essentials runs roughly 1/2 inch; Dimensions runs closer to 5/8 inch. That measurement tells us which hinge plates, drawer slides, and mounting brackets will actually fit.
One gotcha worth knowing: Sterling changed their hinge mounting pattern around 2012. Cabinets from before that change won’t accept current Sterling hinge plates without a retrofit plate, and the retrofit plate shifts door alignment by about 3/16 inch. We keep retrofit plates on the truck. Aftermarket Blum or Salice soft-close hinges work on most Sterling doors, but you’ll often lose the branded look, and we’ll tell you that before you spend money.

Signs Your Sterling Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Cabinet doors that won’t stay straight or close flush. The hinge plate screws have stripped out of the cabinet box face frame. This is the single most common failure we see in older Sterling kitchens, especially when doors get yanked open for years. The fix is usually a larger screw or a plate replacement, not a new kitchen.
- Sink base floor feels soft or sagging under the sink. A slow leak from the Sterling undermount sink seal or a pinhole in the strainer basket has been soaking the cabinet floor for months. Turn off the supply lines and pull everything out from under the sink. If the floor flexes, the cabinet box is compromised and that section usually needs replacement.
- Drawer slides grinding or binding. Sterling’s older epoxy-coated slides collect fine grit over time, and in Fort Worth’s dustier spring months the slide tracks get abrasive fast. Lubricating can buy you six months, but if the ball bearings are flat-spotted the slide is done.
- Drawer front separating from the drawer box. The factory staples or dowels have worked loose, usually because someone overloads the drawer. This gets worse quickly once it starts, because the front now carries the weight without any mechanical help.
- Corner seams on the cabinet box opening up. If the box is delaminating at the corner joints, the cabinet’s structural life is over. Patches won’t hold. That cabinet gets pulled and rebuilt or replaced, and now you’re making a real decision about the rest of the kitchen.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A targeted repair on a Sterling kitchen in Fort Worth, like replacing a hinge plate, a drawer slide, or a sink base floor, runs a few hundred dollars parts and labor. A partial remodel that keeps the cabinet boxes but replaces doors, drawer fronts, and hardware runs $4,000 to $13,000 depending on kitchen size. A full kitchen remodel in Fort Worth runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed. Countertop installation alone runs $2,000 to $6,500, and a new island runs $3,000 to $10,000.
Every quote we give is a written price before work starts. No change orders, no surprises at the invoice. The price includes parts, labor, haul-off of old material, and a written workmanship warranty. We also carry KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone product lines if the Sterling failure pushes you toward a broader refresh.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a stripped hinge screw or reattaching a drawer front is something a handy homeowner can do with a drill, wood glue, and patience. If the cabinet box itself is wet, split, or delaminating, that’s structural, and you need someone who can confirm whether the water damage goes past the cabinet into the wall. Undermount sink seal failure is also a call-us situation: if the seal lets go, the sink drops while it’s full of water, and you’ll be replacing the cabinet, the sink repair, and possibly the floor beneath.
We’d rather you call us to look at a $200 repair than spend a weekend trying to fix a $4,000 problem wrong. Call (682) 841-6652 and we’ll send Luca or one of the crew out to tell you what’s actually wrong.
FAQs

Expect 20 to 25 years from Sterling kitchen cabinets in Fort Worth, though the doors and hardware usually wear out around the 10 to 15 year mark in high-traffic kitchens. Fort Worth’s summer humidity swings can accelerate delamination in poorly ventilated homes. Call (682) 841-6652 and we’ll assess what you’ve got before you spend on full replacement.
We repair failed Sterling cabinets all the time when the box is sound, which covers most hinge, slide, and drawer front failures. If the cabinet box is water-damaged or delaminating, patch work is wasted money. Get a written quote either way. Call (682) 841-6652.
Most hinge, slide, and drawer front repairs take 1 to 3 hours on site depending on the number of cabinets involved. A full kitchen remodel in Fort Worth runs 4 to 8 weeks. We give you a written timeline before work starts, with photo updates along the way. Call (682) 841-6652 to schedule a walkthrough.
We keep common Sterling-compatible hinges, drawer slides, and retrofit plates on the truck, and we can source OEM Sterling parts for most current model lines. If OEM parts are discontinued, we’ll show you the aftermarket option and the price difference before we order anything. Call (682) 841-6652 for a part match and a fixed price.
