Techo-Bloc Driveway & Pavers: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Techo-Bloc-compatible driveway pavers and paver repair parts across Fort Worth, with installed paver driveway work typically running $7,000 – $18,000 depending on square footage, base condition, and access. Most Techo-Bloc driveways don’t fail all at once, they fail in sections: a paver sinks, an edge row separates, or a corner of the driveway starts spreading after a hard Texas rain. If you’re seeing one bad section while the rest still looks solid, you don’t need a full replacement. You need the right replacement paver matched to your existing Techo-Bloc series, or a targeted repair that recompacts the base and locks the pavers back in.
This page covers how to identify what you have, what it costs to fix, and when it makes more sense to replace the whole driveway rather than patch one section. Luca Romano and our crew have been working Fort Worth driveways long enough to know exactly how our soil and weather beat up paver systems, and we’ll tell you straight whether you’re looking at a weekend fix or a full redo.
Which Techo-Bloc Models This Applies To

Techo-Bloc runs several paver lines that show up constantly on Fort Worth driveways, and each one has its own replacement part. The three we see most often are the Blu 60 (a smooth, modern paver), the Victorien (a classic rectangular paver with a tumbled edge), and the Aberdeen (a larger-format paver with a stone-like texture). If you bought your home with pavers already installed, you probably don’t know which one you have, and that’s the first thing we solve.
The fastest way to identify your paver is to pull one from an edge or corner and look at the underside. Techo-Bloc molds their name or a series code into most pavers. You can also measure it. Blu 60 pavers run roughly 60mm thick, Victorien runs slightly larger on the face dimension, and Aberdeen is visibly bigger in both directions. If you can’t find a marking, snap a photo and email it to us. We’ll identify the series, match the color blend, and tell you whether the paver is still in production or if we need to pull from our stock of retired colors. That’s a real gotcha with Techo-Bloc: they retire color blends regularly, so an older Fort Worth driveway might need a near-match rather than an exact match. We’ll tell you before we order anything.
Aftermarket pavers exist, but we don’t recommend them for Techo-Bloc driveways. The thickness and joint spacing are engineered to work together, and a cheaper paver that’s a few millimeters off will show within a season. Stick with OEM or a quality equivalent that matches the paver’s height and chamfer. Manufactured paver systems are a tolerance game, and guesswork shows up as a wavy driveway.

Signs Your Techo-Bloc Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Sinking or low spots in the wheel path. This is the most common Techo-Bloc failure in Fort Worth. The clay soil under the paver base holds water, goes through freeze-thaw cycles in winter and shrink-swell cycles in summer, and the base compacts unevenly. The pavers themselves are usually fine; the ground under them gave up. We recompact the base and relay the pavers rather than throw new product at the problem.
- Edge rows separating or falling away. Pavers need edge restraint to stay locked. When the plastic or aluminum edging shifts, the outside rows start to wander. We see this a lot on driveways where the edge is up against unretained soil or a lawn that gets heavy irrigation. The fix is new edge restraint, recompaction, and resetting the affected rows.
- Weeds or grass growing through the joints. Polymeric sand breaks down in Texas sun and heat. Once it erodes, joints open up enough for weeds and water. A paver driveway that’s growing a lawn through its joints is telling you the jointing sand has failed and needs to be removed, refilled, and sealed. If you ignore it, the pavers start shifting because the joints are no longer locking them together.
- Faded or washed-out color. Techo-Bloc uses concrete with integrated color, so fading is usually surface-level oxidation, not the color running out. A proper cleaning and re-sealing brings most of the color back. If the paver itself is pitting or spalling, that’s a manufacturing or freeze-thaw issue, and those pavers get replaced individually.
- Puddles that stay after rain. A properly pitched paver driveway drains fast. If you’re getting standing water in the same spot for hours after rain stops, the base has settled below grade and the slope is gone. That’s a re-pitch job, not a surface fix. Standing water also accelerates paver deterioration in freeze-thaw cycles, so it’s worth fixing before winter shows up.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Techo-Bloc driveway install in Fort Worth runs $7,000 – $18,000 installed. Smaller repair jobs, like resetting a sunken section or replacing a few broken pavers, usually run in the $800 – $2,500 range depending on how much base work is involved and how many pavers need swapping. We don’t price repairs by the square foot without seeing the driveway, because two identical-looking jobs can hide very different base conditions.
What drives the price is base depth and access. A driveway with 4 – 6 inches of compacted base that just needs surface work is a quick job. A driveway that was laid on 2 inches of sand over loose clay needs the whole section excavated and rebuilt, and that’s where the bigger number comes from. We write the price before we start, and it includes the pavers, base material, jointing sand, haul-away of old material, and labor. No change orders unless you add scope to the job. Every repair and install carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if it’s not done right, we make it right, for a full year. Call (682) 841-6652 and we’ll walk the driveway with you, give you a written line-item price, and tell you exactly what we’re going to do before you spend a dollar.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check whether a paver is loose, measure it, and look for markings on the underside. You can also check your edge restraint by running a boot along the outside row and seeing if it moves. None of that requires tools or skill. What you shouldn’t do is pull up a paver, dig out the base, and try to rebuild it yourself if you’re not sure what’s underneath. In Fort Worth, the wrong base depth on clay soil means the same paver sinks again within a year.
The work itself isn’t dangerous the way a tension spring or electrical panel is, but it is heavy, dusty, and unforgiving if you get the slope wrong. A driveway that drains toward your foundation is a much more expensive problem than the repair would have been. If you’ve got a small area and want to reset a few pavers, we’re happy to tell you what to watch for over the phone. If it’s more than a few pavers, or you can see the base has washed out, call (682) 841-6652 and let us handle it. You’ll get a written price before we start, and you won’t be out there with a tamper in August heat.
FAQs

Techo-Bloc pavers themselves routinely last 30 – 50 years, but the base under them in Fort Worth usually needs attention every 10 – 15 years because of our clay soil and the shrink-swell cycle. The paver is rarely the problem; the ground and the jointing sand are. If your pavers are still intact and you’re seeing settling, a base repair gets you decades more life. Call (682) 841-6652 and we’ll tell you which one you’re looking at.
Yes, in most cases. If the pavers themselves are intact and the issue is settling, edge separation, or joint sand failure, we can spot-repair the affected section without touching the rest of the driveway. Full replacement only makes sense when the pavers are spalling or cracked across a large area, or when the base was never built to spec. We’ll give you both numbers in writing so you can decide with the facts.
Most section repairs run one to two days, depending on how much base rebuild is required and how many pavers need to be reset. A full driveway install typically runs three to seven days including excavation, base compaction, paver laying, and joint sand sealing. We schedule a live arrival time and send before-and-after photos so you can see the work without standing in the yard all day.
We carry common Techo-Bloc series pavers in our shop and can match most current production colors quickly. Retired color blends sometimes require a special order or a documented near-match, and we’ll walk you through that honestly before any work is scheduled. If you’re not sure what series you have, send us a photo and we’ll identify it and check our stock the same day. Call (682) 841-6652.
